IB and ePals
In June, 2009, the IB selected ePals, Inc., to support the IB goal to implement and manage an online learning community for IB students, educators, alumni, and other stakeholders.
The IB Virtual Community, due to be fully launched in August 2010, will provide safe and collaborative communication tools to facilitate authentic learning experiences and interactions on a global scale. The rollout will be multi-phased; ultimately enabling members of the worldwide IB community of over 130 countries to connect, share, and collaborate.
Up until now, genuine collaboration and interaction within the IB community has been limited to primarily face-to-face exchange. The IB Virtual Community will provide the platform and the processes by which our community can have authentic interactions each and every day that centre on teaching and learning outcomes and the multiple involvements of the IB educational community globally.
