Erik Goldstein


Erik Goldstein Professor Goldstein has over thirty years of teaching experience and currently holds the positions of Professor of International Relations and History Chair, Department of International Relations at Boston University.

He has a PhD in History from Jesus College, Cambridge, having gained a History BA summa cum laude from Tufts University and subsequently an MA and MLDA (Master of Arts in International Law and Diplomacy) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

Professor Goldstein has previously been Professor of International History and Deputy Director for the Centre for Studies in Security and Diplomacy at the University of Birmingham, UK and has held appointments as Secretary of the Navy Senior Research Fellow at the Naval War College and as Visiting Scholar at the Centre for International Studies at the University of Cambridge.

The recipient of numerous grants and awards, including the Wardrop Fund Grant at the University of Oxford and the Bane Fund Grant from Cambridge University, Professor Goldstein has served on a number of advisory boards throughout his career and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (of Britain).

Widely published and the author of numerous books, Professor Goldstein was the founder-editor of the journal Diplomacy & Statecraft and has served on the editorial board of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies.
