Application Manager (Ref 463c)

Salary: £36,000 - £44,000 per year

Closing Date: 16 November 2009

The application manager is part of the IT team and contributes to the overall management of the department, with a particular responsibility to manage the IT application team.  S/He will plan, direct and coordinate the development, implementation and rollout of IT application, for the global IT provision, through the leadership and management of the development team and application support team. 

The application manager will work in close consultation with senior IB staff in order to ensure the development team provides appropriate IT services within the context of the IB strategic plan.  In addition, s/he works with IB staff to establish development and IT requirements and to advise on future development projects.  The application manager also works with external suppliers for specific projects. 

The post holder must be an excellent communicator who is able to work effectively with people from a wide variety of cultures.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT discipline
• Extensive experience and knowledge of analysis and development
• Excellent knowledge in application architecture, consolidation and migration

• Extensive knowledge in various programming languages and databases
• Proven experience in project management
• Excellent people management experience and skills
• Knowledge of the global software supply market

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of current and evolving development methodologies.

Location

The post is based in Cardiff, Wales, UK. This position will be relocated to Singapore.
