ICT Business Analyst (x2 positions) Ref 298

Closing date: 17 October 2008

Salary: circa £26,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)

Based in the Information and Communication technology (ICT) directorate, you will work directly with the lines of business to identifying ways in which ICT can be used to streamline processes, improve communication and enhance the work of the organization.  You will also project manage the implementation of new ICT systems within the IB.

You should have previous experience working within a Business Analysis role and ideally, a proven track record of delivering successful projects. The role also requires the ability to address both the technical and business requirements in solving a problem, and to provide a link between these two functions.  To do this, you will need excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills combined with a good awareness of trends and directions in technology.  You will understand the issues involved in integrating systems and data, and have an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of software.  The ICT Business Analyst is responsible for all aspects of requirements definition and management and will need to be familiar with process engineering and optimization (e.g. experience with process mapping tools such as CASEWISE/NIMBUS)

You will hold a relevant professional qualification in business analysis and/or project management techniques (e.g.ISEB/PRINCE 2/PMP). Education to degree level or equivalent will be desirable. Previous experience of working within the education sector may also be advantageous.

Due to this role being part of a global facing team, occasional weekend working and international travel between regional offices will be required.

Location of post: To be based in Cardiff or Singapore, depending on location of successful applicant.
