About the Africa, Europe, Middle East region
With schools as far South as Cape Town in South Africa, as far North as Tromsø in Norway, as far East as Vladivostok in Russia and as far West as in Reykjavík in Iceland, the IB Africa, Europe, Middle East region is both large and culturally very diverse. At present there are 773 schools in 81 countries teaching one or more of the three IB programmes. All three IB official languages—English, French and Spanish—are represented among the IB World Schools in our region but we support schools working in many more. The growth rate has been around 15% in each of the last five years.
School services department within the region deals with all services associated with authorization and programme evaluation of new and existing schools for the three programmes across this vast region.
About the role
Under the direction of the School Services operations manager, the main purpose of the school services authorization and evaluation associate manager position will be to manage, oversee and innovate in operations related to visits and ongoing quality of IB programmes in schools in Africa, Europe and the Middle East, ensuring improved efficiency and efficacy, timely staffing and school satisfaction with service for the three IB programmes.
This is a key post within the operations team as it manages all operations of schools committed to IB programmes (in the process of authorization or authorized).
Education, Experience & Languages:
• Tertiary qualification and in depth knowledge of service operations.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position and experience in the management of people.
• Knowledge of the processes related to the implementation of the IB programme(s) highly desirable.
• English proficiency is essential
• French and/or Spanish would be an advantage.
Location
Position will initially be based in Geneva, Switzerland and is planned to relocate to The Hague in The Netherlands in the second half of 2011.
