Academic Honesty Manager (Ref 483c)

Salary: £30,819 to £38,524 per year

Closing date: 12 March 2010

The appointment of a manager for academic honesty is a new post in the IB Organization responsible for leading the development and implementation of the IB’s policy on academic honesty and the provision of support to IB World Schools and IB staff across the continuum. This will be achieved largely through consultation with senior IB staff, leading IB workshops, presenting at conferences and the design and provision of online resources and training.

The postholder will also be required to enhance the IB’s documentation and procedures that support academic honesty with the aim of gaining efficiencies, achieving consistency and upholding the reputation of the IB. In the Diploma Programme, this will include the management of all cases of alleged malpractice from the initial investigation through to conclusion, whether a decision of the final award committee or through the procedures for reconsideration or appeal.

A key initiative will be to form links with educational institutions and commercial enterprises that can promote the IB’s agenda for academic honesty. The person appointed will be pro-active and sufficiently dynamic to propose and implement new initiatives in the area of academic honesty.
