The focus of the Communication Manager, Policy and Research is to assist in developing a communications strategy, and to be responsible for implementing tools, materials and research that will help to support the development of networks advocating for better recognition of the IB and influence key decision makers about the programmes. This role also develops and produces communications on research that provides evidence on both the benefits of IB programmes and the quality of our services. .
The policy and research team is part of the Schools Division of the IB, which aims to improve services for an increasing number of IB schools around the world.
The Communication Manager, Policy and Research will be responsible for:
- Audit current communications for external stakeholder groups to assess their effectiveness and conduct a gap analysis.
- Develop and recommend, a communications strategy and plan that supports the goals of policy & research.
- Develop a core set of global materials for key stakeholder groups (universities, governments, education organizations, associations of IB World Schools and professional associations etc.) according to the implementation plan and supporting policy & research goals.
- Represent the IB policy & research work at internal/external events where the results of work in the department are presented and promoted.
- Have ownership of policy & research content on designated IB websites as determined through the communications strategy.
- Develop and maintain accurate and timely reporting procedures so that senior managers and colleagues are kept up-to-date with the progress of activities and measurement of results.
- Coordinate departmental communications purchasing and budget tracking, so that monthly financial reports coincide with the internal tracking system.
- Undertake special tasks or project work delegated by the global head of communications and the head of policy & research in order to support and develop the organization’s communications work.
Location
The Marketing and Communications Associate Manager post will be temporarily located in the NY office and will relocate to the Washington D.C. area within 8-12 months.
