Systems engineer Ref 51

2 year fixed term contract

Salary: £19, 783 - £26, 500 per year

Based within the information and communication technology (ICT) systems and security section, your role will be to ensure the reliable operation of the IB’s main servers and server-based applications. This is a technical role that requires in-depth knowledge and experience of one or more of the following: Sun Solaris, Linux, Novell Netware, TCP/IP communications, Sun One web server, SMTP/IMAP email, LDAP, DNS, ColdFusion and/or Windows 2000.

Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have at least three years’ ICT experience in a help desk or infrastructure role. You will have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time pressures. You will have a good understanding of high availability network configurations and network administration and will be able to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical staff. Some out of hours work may be required.
