Teacher Education Associate Manager

Based in Singapore

The Asia-Pacific regional office has a vacancy for the post of Teacher Education Associate Manager. The task of this jobholder is to improve the capacity and capability of the Regional Office in setting direction for professional development initiatives across the middle years and diploma programmes. The job holder will join the Professional Development team to play an important role in the development and organization of teacher education initiatives in the region with responsibility for the provision of appropriate IB regional workshops, in-school training and training of workshop leaders.

The position will specifically involve coordinating the development of new models of workshop provision, coordination of teacher training and resources, liaison with and appointment of workshop leaders, support for development of the regional workshop calendar and conference programme and investigation and implementation of initiatives including the negotiation of potential partnerships with Universities and tertiary institutions as PD providers

The successful candidate is likely to be a highly qualified educator, familiar with educational issues in the Asia Pacific region and with the work of the IB and in particular the MYP and/or Diploma programmes.  The ideal candidate will also have had experience in an educational leadership role and have knowledge/understanding of alternative learning technologies and models of adult learning. The post holder must be a self-starter and an excellent communicator who is able to represent the organization appropriately with people from a wide variety of cultures. The post will entail significant travel throughout the region, including some weekend absences from Singapore.

The salary package will be commensurate with the level of this post and its location. Reasonable relocation expenses will be available for the successful candidate.

Interviews will be held in Singapore in late January/ early February 2008
