Diploma Programme training opportunities

IBAEM is offering opportunities in the areas listed below in June 2010. There will be other opportunities available later in the year.

The venue for all training events is Chavannes-de-Bogis (between Geneva & Lausanne).

DP School Visit Experienced Team Leader training

Description: This training is intended for applicants who already have considerable experience as team leaders for DP authorization visits but who have no specific previous training for this role.*

Additional pre-requisites: Applicants must have participated in at least 3 recent DP authorization visits as a team member.

Dates of the training event:  16-19 June 2010

Start & end times: 09h00 (16 June) – 13h00 (19 June)

DP School Visit Team Member training

Description:  This training is intended for applicants who have considerable experience with the IB Diploma Programme. Participants will be trained in how to conduct two-day authorization visits on behalf of the IB.

Additional pre-requisites: None beyond the published criteria for application.

Dates of the training event:  16-19 June 2010

Start & end times: 09h00 (16 June) – 13h00 (19 June)

DP Training for writing responses to reports on matters to be addressed

Description: Reports are received by the IB from schools in response to matters to be addressed from authorization visits and evaluations. This training is intended for DP educators who already have experience in DP pedagogical leadership and/or in participating in authorization visits. Participants will be trained to analyze and write responses to these reports.

Additional pre-requisites: If not in a leadership position in the school (head of school/section, or DP coordinator), then the applicant must have participated in at least two recent authorization visits.

Dates of the training event:  16-17 June 2010

Start & end times:  09h00 (16 June) – 16h00 (17 June)

*Training for team members who wish to become team leaders will now be available in October 2010. Applications for this are planned to open in May.
