China and Mongolia
IB Schools of China and Mongolia (IBSCM)
The IBSCM pre-conference was held from 18 - 19 November 2005 at the Western Academy of Beijing. Participants from 27 IB schools within the region approved the draft charter and elected nine executive committee members:

A letter will be sent to all IB schools within the region outlining its launch and the new charter.
Consultations and Visits
TIST got its evaluation visit on 16 October by Li Bin, the MYP Programme Manager and Gordon Eldridge from Tokyo.
Wang Hong paid a visit to Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School from 11 - 14 October for its coming PYP authorization consultancy.
Wan Ji, a new MYP coordinator of Beijing Shuren Private School after Yu Haiyan who left this school sometime ago, visited our office on 21 October to get advice on solutions of students MYP certificates and how to develop MYP in his school. Students of his school received MYP report card in December after that visit.
Wang Hong, Laurie Ince and Nigel Forbes-Harper conducted an authorization visit at British International School in Shanghai from 1 - 3 November for its Diploma Programme.
Wang Hong visited Shanghai High School on 4 November upon the school’s request for its DP consultancy.
We would like to thank Sha Tin College in Hong Kong for hosting the PYP and DP workshops from 10 - 12 March 2006.

MYP Workshops
Beijing World Youth Academy, 12 - 14 November 2005
The IB Asia-Pacific MYP Workshops was successfully held at Beijing WYA in November 2005.
This was the first time that Mandarin was the sole language of instruction for MYP workshops which explained the MYP guidelines to Chinese teachers and teachers whose schools were doing MYP in Chinese.
90 participants from all over the region attended the 3-day workshops held in five groups: Introductory, Language A, Language B, Arts and Technology.
