For half a century, Sevenoaks has been a pioneering institution. We were among the first independent schools in England to go co-educational and we now admit girls as well as boys at 11, 13 and 16. We have more than 980 students on our roll, including nearly 340 boarders. Over a dozen modern languages have been offered in the school’s Diploma Programme in addition to the classical languages of Latin and Greek.

Courses in world literature (in translation), world religion and information technology in a global society further widen the horizons of our students and teachers. Just as the architecture of our school buildings ranges in style from eighteenth-century Palladian to uncompromisingly contemporary, so our curriculum is both rooted in traditional academic values and animated by an innovative and outward-looking spirit. At Sevenoaks School we like to describe ourselves as an independent school with an international dimension. It is the IB Diploma Programme that provides the lion’s share of that vital component, and so much more besides.
