Over the years, the Purepecha project has had an enormous impact both on our students and on the communities they have visited.

Students trading with Purepecha in the school craft market
Small groups of Purepecha have visited the school, organizing a craft market where they sell their produce on a barter system, since they do not have a money economy. Beyond the exchange of goods, there is a valuable exchange of ideas, beliefs and traditions that has permeated the entire school, creating true bonds of friendship and understanding and enabling our students to become more empathic and tolerant citizens of the world. Through this distinctive MYP interdisciplinary project, we believe that Churchill School has acquired a deeper understanding of what it means to be an IB World School.
