IB Virtual Gallery

IB Virtual Gallery

This gallery originally came about as the result of a collaborative effort between the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and the International Society for Education through Art (InSEA). An earlier version of the gallery can be viewed at http://cap.unb.ca/ib/, part of the site belonging to the University of New Brunswick in Canada. The intention is to provide Internet access to selected work produced by IBO Diploma Programme candidates taking the art/design course (two years). The gallery contains examples of higher level (240 hours) and standard level (150 hours) studio coursework.

This gallery does not represent the full range of possibilities for the subject. The examples have been selected to illustrate the range of ways some Diploma Programme students have worked in the past and to show the high standard of their achievements.

One of the features of the art/design course is that students engage in arts learning in many countries around the world. There are many forms of cultural expression missing from this gallery because work was unavailable for selection, not because work from Diploma Programme students in different cultural settings is not valued. You will see an unintentional eurocentric tendency in the gallery.
